Everyone blamed Emily Arundell’s accident on a rubber ball left on the stairs by her frisky terrier. But the more she thought about her fall, the more convinced she became that one of her. "Dumb Witness" is a fairly decent Agatha Christie novel with several humorous scenes.

The plot is interesting, though the identity of the killer lacks the impact of other novels. The moments between Hastings and Bob are funny and it's a shame that Hastings wouldn't appear again until the final Poirot book, since he was such a great narrator.

"Dumb Witness" is a book where I worry that my own childhood bias moves it up the list. In retrospect, the eponymous canine – Bob – is overdrawn, and everyone acts like children.

The suspects are varied, but none of them are well characterised. Beyond this, the question of who wears a hulking great brooch to bed has always confused me/5(48). Read Dumb Witness eBook onlie.
